Sr. Solar Design Manager (Europe)

We are seeking a Sr. Solar Design Engineer (Europe) with 7–8 years of experience in designing commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects for the European market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering designs, including PV layouts, SLDs, cable sizing, equipment selection, energy yield analysis, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with European grid codes, IEC standards, and country-specific regulations. The role requires expertise in industry-leading design software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, EPC partners, and international stakeholders to deliver efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solar solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems for European projects
  • Prepare PV layouts, SLDs, DC/AC designs, cable sizing, and equipment selection
  • Perform energy yield analysis, shading studies, and system optimization using industry-standard software
  • Review project specifications and ensure compliance with IEC standards, grid codes, and client requirements
  • Provide engineering support during project execution, commissioning, and technical issue resolution

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline
  • Experience working on European solar projects or international EPC projects
  • Strong understanding of IEC Standards, European grid codes, and electrical design principles
  • Excellent technical documentation and engineering calculation skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, PVcase, MS Excel, and AutoCAD Electrical

Nice to have

  • Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CYMCAP, or SKM Power Tools 
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, NEC/IEC comparisons, and utility interconnection requirements
  • Experience supporting multinational EPC or developer projects
  • Strong analytical skills
